Atheists, Hedonists and Agnostics Society

In facebook, there exists a group called “Atheists, Hedonists and Agnostics Society”. This is a facebook group started by an atheist. I previously asked the group creator on whether one can join if one is a hedonist and still a god believer. He replied in the affirmative and said that all kinds of hedonists are free to join as long as they don’t disrupt the group.

Majority of the group’s members are Filipinos based in Manila.

Spiritual Atheism

It’s free as of now. This is actually my serious and spiritual side talking. I have placed my philosophical beliefs which are quite different. I don’t believe in an omnipotent and omnibenevolent God which demands our worship. We instead create our own future. I do however believe in a spirituality which connects all of us as one.

In relation to hedonism, I don’t believe in asceticism. I also don’t believe in compromising my hedonism. I believe that life should be lived with thorough enjoyment through all material as well as spiritual avenues. I believe in hedonism but stop at the point of attachment to the object giving pleasure. Once this danger sign (attachment) is reached i swerve on to the other side of asceticism. Once boredome sets in, I return once again to hedonism.

Life then to me is an oscillation between hedonism and asceticism and enjoying both extremes thoroughly.
